In my work with parents I’ve found that it’s the overwhelm, the anxiety, the depression, that brings people to me. As we talk and things unfold, these are merely symptoms of deeper systemic issues present not simply within ourselves and our families, but in our culture as a whole. Upon digging deeper, I have ultimately found that what we’re missing is a collective narrative that nurtures and empowers the individual, builds connection, and fosters community. We are immersed in narratives around motherhood, around parenthood, that are limiting, set unrealistic expectations, and that are incompatible with all of the different pieces of ourselves and our modern lives. I have shifted from focusing on treating symptoms to exploring and healing this broken narrative of what it means to be a mother, to be a parent, in our world today. Weaving Motherhood® is a collective unfolding in slow time alongside my own journey as a mother with the intention of healing through storytelling and community so that we can reclaim our identities, the tapestry of motherhood, for not only ourselves, but for generations of mothers to come. Follow along on Instagram @weavingmotherhood & #weavingmotherhood to witness the day to day intention around this collective narrative. Come join our community on Facebook to connect with other mothers on this journey. I will soon be offering opportunities for coaching through identity development, reclaiming ourselves, and owning our stories. When mothers and parents are empowered and nurtured we set the foundation for great healing in the world. Stay tuned for collective spaces, events, and workshops designed to bring us together to share our stories, to find ourselves, and to heal in ways we never imagined possible. I can’t wait to share this journey with you.
